Let's face it, not everyone has the luxury of doing a full blown bathroom renovation. In this economy?! Yeah, right 🤣! To make a room feel fresh again, it's as simple as reorganizing and re arranging what you already have. Sure, in a living room or bedroom is simple.. that furniture moves. But what a about your bathroom? Believe it or not, bathroom cabinets (I've always called it a vanity) have had many accessories designed to help us declutter our space! Let's take a closer look at them and find one perfect to refresh your bathroom.
For 30" Sink Bases - The U Tray
Have you seen these pull out trays in kitchens before? Absolutely brilliant! They allow you to easily access everything under your sink base cabinet with out getting on your knees to see what's inside. And my favorite part? They've been modified to go around the drain that connects your sink! This pull out tray is designed specifically for a 30" sink base. Keep reading if this one doesn't fit your cabinet there are 4 more ways to organize your existing vanity!
For Any Size Sink Base - The L Tray
Cabinet designers realized not everyone has a 30" sink base and were quick to come out with this solution.... The L Tray! I prefer this sliding tray over the other because it frees up one side of the cabinet for a large item. For me, it's a big box of cat litter 🤣 but I have seen this space used most often for bathroom cleaners. The Tray itself is perfect for all those tiny items that get lost in our drawers that are hard to dig out; hair ties, nail polishes, just to name a few. There are Left and Right configurations to choose from.
The Tilt Out Tray to Organize Your Existing Vanity
You know that fake looking drawer on your vanity sink? The one where the sink is right behind it? That thing is usually just held on with a small bracket, or screw.. if you stick your head inside the lower portion of the cabinet, and look up.. You'll see how its secured onto the front. Between this fake drawer and your sink are a few inches just perfect sized for dental storage tooth brushes and tooth paste. That's where this tilt out tray will come in handy. You'll have to install a tilting hinge on your fake drawer front, dont worry, they come with the tray. There are plenty of youtubes to help walk you through the process!!
Drawer Organization
This one is simple that anyone could do! No tools required to organize your bathroom vanity with this idea. These are simply little plastic trays to help organize similar items in a drawer. Perfect for make up, brushes, hair accessories, balms and creams.
The trays are plastic which means you can easily pop them out, toss them in the top rack of your dish washer, and voila ✨ clean again!
Secret Storage - The Toe Kick Drawer
I admit, this one involves a little handiness. Nothing a little YouTube University can't help with! Another untapped storage space on your already existing vanity is the toe kick. This is that space on the very bottom of the cabinet that touches the floor. That board is usually only held on with glue or a small finish nail, either way, its meant to be popped off easy so you can replace it if it gets water damage. behind this board is a crawl space about 4" high, and however deep your cabinet is.. AND WE WANT TO USE IT! In a bathroom, I can see this being a a perfect hiding space for some of our more personal.. adult items 😉. Unless everyone knows about it... then I would store the ugly bathroom scale and a foldable step stool for the little ones in here.
